Northbound 405 Lanes Through Sepulveda Pass to Close Saturday Night

The closure is to allow Metro's contractor to prepare for the upcoming demolition of the remaining half of the Mulholland bridge.

In another minor preview of "," the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway will be closed Saturday night through the Sepulveda Pass.

Beginning at 11 p.m. Saturday, the northbound freeway will be closed from Getty Center Drive to the Ventura (101) Freeway. The freeway is expected to reopen by 9 a.m. Sunday, according to Metro, which is overseeing the San Diego Freeway construction project.

The area of the 405 where the closure will take place that burned at least 70 acres and was still not fully contained as of 11:20 p.m. in the evening.

The Mulholland bridge over the freeway, which closed Friday night, will remain blocked until 8 a.m. Sunday.

The closures are being planned to allow Metro's contractor to prepare for the upcoming demolition of the remaining half of the Mulholland bridge. The contractor will remove the supporting wood structures from the newly constructed south side of the bridge, and will adjust the Mulholland alignment and elevation to conform with the new bridge, according to Metro.

"Carmageddon II," when all lanes of the freeway will be closed in both directions through the pass so the remainder of the Mulholland bridge can be demolished, is scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 29-30.

Where was this?

I was stopped coming out of the neighborhood by police. They said they were looking for a whiteRead More male, 5'10 with a tan shirt on who they were chasing in a car. He apparently dumped the car near Greenleaf and Davana Terrace and fled in the neighborhood. Not sure what he did or if they caught him.

I have photos of the 4 or 5 armed officers with their dog in tow in my backyard. For some reason IRead More couldn't upload the pix. The streets were blocked off by lapd cars south of Ventura, at Hazeltine and Stansbury avenue. They made us stay inside for At least two hours. We never heard if they caught the tan shirt man or not. We felt well protected however
