I've tried perhaps 1/2 dozen different cleaners in Sherman Oaks and for my $$, Picasso Cleaners is #1. Family owned and operated, they are friendly, prompt, and professional. Their prices are quite reasonable. Give 'em a try.

Jasmine Cleaners on Woodman beween Ventura + Moorpark. Customer 20 years after trying other cleaners who either too pricey, too crowded, too slow, too inconvenient or just not good.

Excel Cleaners on Burbank and Kester. Don't know about the cheapest, but they do excellent work. Family owned, very friendly.

I have been going to Excel Cleaners on Kester at Burbank since the late 1980's. They have always done excellent work.

As a woman I try to buy clothing I can wash. I try to iron as little as possible. Perhaps cleaning materials have gone up but on the few occasions I do use the cleaners I've noticed prices have gone up 3-4 fold.. Thanks for all your input I will try the ones recommended.

I absolutely love Dr. J's on Woodman and Moorpark. You can tell they take so much pride in their cleaning service. From having sweaters wrapped in plastic bags that you can use at home to padding different types of clothing on hangers. If you have a special request they will gladly accommodate you. Oh, and Gill the owner, he reminds me of my wonderful Dad who I lost to cancer 18 years ago. We talk about various restaurants, food, etc., and makes me laugh every time I see him. In fact, I am thinking of asking Gill if he would like to be an adoptive grandpa to my daughter as she has lost both her grandpa's to cancer. Gill and his staff are the best in Sherman Oaks. Without a doubt, you would be hard pressed to find a better cleaners in SO oher than Dr. J's.

Bill Cook and Diana have it right.
Arda and Tania Kalpakcian at Excel Cleaners/Burbank & Kester have been doing it right for nearly 30 years now. They also do some work for some of the other cleaning shops in the area, they are that well trusted. The nicest couple, with Eduardo now on board for only 17 years or so, to make your drycleaning experience a pleasure. Not the largest volume, just the best. And I live within 2 blocks of Steamers, yet drive to their place - there is a reason!

Steamer cleaners is our favorite. I like the bags they give you to bring in the cleaning. I also like the new green return bags. They do very good work.

Flair, by far. Have had countless problems with Steamer and Laurel Quality.

I have been going here for the past 6 months, the rates are okay but their service is horrible. Button for the shirts has been missing in the beginning and after complaining nothing has happened. They have burnt my dress pants ($100.00 worth) and when asked about it, they have started arguing that it was there already and they never burn any clothes even accidently or by mistake. I would recommend staying away from this store and people

Where was this?
Paul June 17, 2013 at 04:05 pm
I was stopped coming out of the neighborhood by police. They said they were looking for a whiteRead More male, 5'10 with a tan shirt on who they were chasing in a car. He apparently dumped the car near Greenleaf and Davana Terrace and fled in the neighborhood. Not sure what he did or if they caught him.
Susan Pitts June 17, 2013 at 04:21 pm
I have photos of the 4 or 5 armed officers with their dog in tow in my backyard. For some reason IRead More couldn't upload the pix. The streets were blocked off by lapd cars south of Ventura, at Hazeltine and Stansbury avenue. They made us stay inside for At least two hours. We never heard if they caught the tan shirt man or not. We felt well protected however
