Britney Spears Taking a Pass, Secret Screening with Leo and Baz, Jimmy Kimmel Is a Sherman Oaks Spazz

Who have you seen in Sherman Oaks this week?

You have to watch this video in the gallery above of Eminem showing Jimmy Kimmel how to rap. It's simply hysterical, and he does a major shout-out to Sherman Oaks. We know Kimmel lives in the area, but it's wonderful how he shows that he's a homie to Sherman Oaks.

He starts off first saying a shout-out to his "peeps in Compton" but then admits to Eminem he knows no one in Compton.

"OK, I'll say a shout-out to my homies in Sherman Oaks, I know people there," Kimmel says. That is how Kimmel's rapper handle Briefcase Joe is born.

Demi Moore has been seen a lot around Sherman Oaks hydrating at Earth Bar, and she is one of those who did an "intervention" on Jimmy Kimmel Live in Hollywood recently after Matt Damon starred in the opening the show as a kidnapper, tying Kimmel, seated, to a chair with duct tape and gagging him with his own tie. (See the photo in the gallery above.)

Surrounding Damon and Kimmel are Andy Garcia, Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Reese Witherspoon, Ben Affleck, Sarah Silverman and Demi Moore.  . . . .

The international Britney Spears website posted photos of the Femme Fatale (her new album) as she was passing through Sherman Oaks to grab some coffee. She looked great, no weird haircut, no mysterious project. (See the pix above.) . . .

Ms. Sherman Oaks has heard this for a few months, but we finally nailed it down. It's true! Filmmaker and director Baz Luhrmann went incognito to an early test screening of The Great Gatsby at the Sherman Oaks ArcLight. It happened once in November and then a more recent one with Leonard DiCaprio also sneaking in to see the audience reaction even though the film wasn't completed and still needed some music and some CG work yet to be done. The film also stars Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan and it runs about two-and-a-half hours but may be cut back a bit more before final release.

The director donned a maroon baseball cap pulled low over his silver hair. The actor came in and sat in the back just after the lights went down. The audience loved the film, so we're told. It's scheduled to come out later this year. . . .

So who did you see around?

As a parent who spent over 12 hours on site volunteering at CHAMPSFEST, I must say that CHAMPSRead More Parent's assessment above of the circumstances is exactly correct.

Dear Hollietiger, CHAMPSFEST2013 was an awesome experience for my child. She was there all day andRead More had the best time. When I dropped her off I saw a slew of security personnel checking bags and wanding. She told me security was there immediately and a medic on hand. Her friend is fine and is going to school Monday morning. The hammer was from a vendor. The kid could have grabbed one of the stakes from a tent or a chair. Things happen, but I trust that the school and the administrators did the right thing. It's very counter productive and irresponsible to write things when you don't know the facts. I will support and trust CHAMPS and my daughter is already looking forward to next years CHAMPSFEST.

First of all, I don't know where your child got his information but he is quite uninformed. HeRead More obviously was believing all the rumors spreading at then end of the event. The victim's skull WAS NOT "cracked open and ... bleeding everywhere." CHAMPSFEST 2013 was a public event, therefore open to the PUBLIC. CHAMPS (the school) has no control of mental competency of attendants from other schools. Security was there in droves to protect the entire venue. As far as nothing being reported that is also FALSE. The kid was NOT taken away in handcuffs. Police were there and it is confidential information that was not released to the general population and is not a matter of public record. Second of all, the resources provided by the city were there as a backup (you mentioned "2 ambulances, police fire trucks... Not really sure what police fire trucks are but that's besides the point). We wanted to make sure that in this case of emergency all bases were covered and the safety of the victim was going to be treated properly. Next time you hear about an incident, I would consider the reputation of the people who worked so hard to put on the event and let them handle the situation before posting incorrect information to the entire community.
