Community Corner

The 3rd Annual OurSpace Art Gallery

The 3rd Annual OurSpace Art Gallery is Tuesday May 29, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Valley Beth Shalom in Encino and is free and open to the public.  Highlighted at the gallery will be art created by the participants of The OurSpace Artistic Spectrum of Jewish Learning class, as well as pieces created by professional artists. The Annual
Art Gallery offers a space for the community to gather, build greater support for the arts and specifically to celebrate the OurSpace artists' talents and abilities.  These original works of art highlight the creativity and amazing vision of our students.

The Artistic Spectrum of Jewish Learning class is part of the OurSpace programs offered at Valley Beth Shalom and Temple Aliyah.  OurSpace provides a variety of formal and
informal Jewish educational, social and arts programs where children and young people are empowered to be active participants in their synagogues and the
community at large.  The Artistic Spectrum of Jewish Learning class provides a variety of meaningful life-long Jewish learning and art experiences to adults with special needs. The mission of the adult art class is to offer adults with special needs an opportunity to continue their Jewish Learning, foster creativity, self-confidence and community connections. Through classes in visual arts, fine arts, music, dance, as well as opportunities to work with professional artists; participants have discovered new talents, interests and/or motivation in the arts while continuing life-long Jewish learning.
