Second Storm Slides Into Town

Latest round not as powerful as last weekend's rain.

A second round of rain swept into Sherman Oaks Wednesday afternoon but not packing quite the punch of last weekend's storms.

"This is nuts!  It's supposed to be stopped already!" said Sherman Oaks Newsstand clerk Fernando Lopez.

As temperatures dipped into the 50s, people on Ventura Boulevard buttoned up and hoped for the best.

The L.A. River kept flowing steadily but far below the frightening levels seen Sunday.

The foothills near Beverly Glen saw only moderate runoff, although the rotten weather slowed traffic along Mulholland Drive and snaked slowly back down to the Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, more rain and high winds are expected tomorrow.  They report a 20 percent chance of rain on Friday and Saturday.
