It's been my pleasure to be the Editor at Sherman Oaks Patch. We hope you're enjoying the site, and finding it to be relevant and informative.
We track neighborhood news, stories that the larger media often don't cover. This is a business that has not been tried before on the scale that Patch is doing it. More than 800 neighborhood news sites have been launched across the country.
After a year and a half, I'm leaving my position to devote myself to individual stories and videos, in other communities around Southern California. It's been a challenge and a lot of fun trying to keep up with what's happening in Sherman Oaks.
We covered stories on potholes, pizza, and the police. Lots more. Don't forget the woman who wants to raise chickens in her back yard. And of course, we tried to answer the question: where do you find the best Mexican food in town.
There's a reason why Sherman Oaks has not lost its cozy village atmosphere, people here have been vigilant to maintain a certain "neighborhood feel" to the community.
Residents have fought hard, on a regular basis, to preserve that local quality.
There are still lots of good stories to be told and Patch will be here to tell them.
