Local Swimming Pool Drawing Big Crowds

During these hot days, lots of people are cooling off at the Sherman Oaks-Van Nuys Park pool.

The hot weather this week is generating huge crowds at the Sherman Oaks-Van Nuys Park public swimming pool, at 14201 Huston St.

"These are the busiest days of the year so far at the pool," said Ruth Buenafe, an employee at the park. "When it's hot like this, we definitely get a lot more people at the pool," she said.

On hot evenings, adults have been taking advantage of the 8:30 p.m. closing time, and many people have been coming after work for a dip in the pool.
