Beagles Celebrate Year Anniversary Being Rescued from Spain [Photos & Video]

The Beagles will be reunited with the Spanish rescuers at a home in Sherman Oaks.

In a private home in Sherman Oaks, the Beagles that were rescued last year will he reunited with the team of volunteers that saved them from a lab in Spain last year.

A year ago, the local Beagle Freedom Project made national news by rescuing 40 Beagles from an animal testing lab.

"It brought tears to the eyes of everyone who watched their dramatic arrival at LAX on Thanksgiving eve," said volunteer Gary Smith who is involved with the project. "On Sunday, many of these dogs and their adoptive parents will be getting together for a reunion to celebrate their first year of freedom."

Many of the dogs from the Spanish rescue as well as a few newer ones from rescues from California labs will be gathering.

Smith said, "Everyone has such stories to tell about their first experiences as a dog - first toy, first walk, first trip to the park."
