OfficeSlice - the Valley's first Coworking space now open!

OfficeSlice has opened its doors, bringing coworking to Sherman Oaks and the San Fernando Valley.  OfficeSlice offers affordable options for home-based entrepreneurs, independent workers, consultants, and freelancers to work, collaborate, and create alongside the Valley’s most creative individuals. If you’re tired of working at home in isolation and its many distractions, or fighting for some table space and elbow room at the coffee house, or if you are seeking like-minded individuals to bounce ideas off of, then OfficeSlice is the place for you.

We are located at 15165 Ventura Blvd., Suite 245 Sherman Oaks - right across the street from the Cost Plus World Market, corner of Ventura and Columbus.

OfficeSlice coworking is a membership-based center that provides access to private offices, private desks, community workspace, a conference room, wifi, and a kitchen. As an added perk, enjoy fair-traded, locally roasted Arabica Dabra coffee for free! Members have access to workshops and entrepreneurial skill building as well as networking events and more.

The independent worker is on the rise. With the local employment scene still in flux, many professionals have taken the advances in technology and social media to launch second or third careers, sometimes from their kitchen tables. However, many independent workers are also looking to collaborate and network with others. OfficeSlice offers these workers a chance to meet and increase productivity and profit.

Coworking is a new twist on an old concept. Coworking has all the benefits of a traditional office, without the drawbacks. The benefits include a dedicated professional workspace, a conference room to meet clients, and the opportunity to learn and gain new skills from your coworking peers. Grow your circle of influence, increase your productivity, and balance your work with the rest of your life by giving your business a professional home! Our coworking space offers flexible options that can adjust and grow with your business, without the burden of an expensive long-term lease.

OfficeSlice was founded because there was an absence of coworking spaces and an absence of a central location for independent workers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs of the area to gather and share information and ideas. OfficeSlice is dedicated to building community through coworking.

Located in the heart of Sherman Oaks, OfficeSlice is within walking distance of cafés, top rated restaurants, banks, the Sherman Oaks Galleria, 24 Hour Fitness, and trendy retail stores. We also offer instant access to the 101 and 405 Freeways, along with the Metro Red Line, and we’re just a short hop from the Metro Orange Line. OfficeSlice is just minutes from Encino, Studio City, Valley Village, and Van Nuys.

According to Deskmag 2nd Annual Coworking Survey (http://www.deskmag.com/), those who participate in a coworking facility reported increased productivity, increase in work/life balance, increase in their social and business circle, increased income and a decrease in feelings of isolation. OfficeSlice’s mission is to provide all of the above, along with great coffee and a relaxed atmosphere, to all of the Valley’s coworkers.

As a parent who spent over 12 hours on site volunteering at CHAMPSFEST, I must say that CHAMPSRead More Parent's assessment above of the circumstances is exactly correct.

Dear Hollietiger, CHAMPSFEST2013 was an awesome experience for my child. She was there all day andRead More had the best time. When I dropped her off I saw a slew of security personnel checking bags and wanding. She told me security was there immediately and a medic on hand. Her friend is fine and is going to school Monday morning. The hammer was from a vendor. The kid could have grabbed one of the stakes from a tent or a chair. Things happen, but I trust that the school and the administrators did the right thing. It's very counter productive and irresponsible to write things when you don't know the facts. I will support and trust CHAMPS and my daughter is already looking forward to next years CHAMPSFEST.

First of all, I don't know where your child got his information but he is quite uninformed. HeRead More obviously was believing all the rumors spreading at then end of the event. The victim's skull WAS NOT "cracked open and ... bleeding everywhere." CHAMPSFEST 2013 was a public event, therefore open to the PUBLIC. CHAMPS (the school) has no control of mental competency of attendants from other schools. Security was there in droves to protect the entire venue. As far as nothing being reported that is also FALSE. The kid was NOT taken away in handcuffs. Police were there and it is confidential information that was not released to the general population and is not a matter of public record. Second of all, the resources provided by the city were there as a backup (you mentioned "2 ambulances, police fire trucks... Not really sure what police fire trucks are but that's besides the point). We wanted to make sure that in this case of emergency all bases were covered and the safety of the victim was going to be treated properly. Next time you hear about an incident, I would consider the reputation of the people who worked so hard to put on the event and let them handle the situation before posting incorrect information to the entire community.
