Power Outage Reported Along Van Nuys Boulevard

Crews were working to restore to power, according to the DWP.

A power outage in the San Fernando Valley left traffic signals on the blink overnight and more than 1,000 Department of Water and Power customers in the Sherman Oaks area temporarily without electricity Sunday.

Two circuits failed at 2:17 a.m., Kim Hughes of the DWP said. The first circuit left 649 customers without electricity until 4:28 a.m., she said.

The second failed circuit left 1,073 customers in the dark, with power restored to 647 customers overnight, Hughes said, adding that crews were working to restore to power to 426 customers.

A Los Angeles sergeant at the Van Nuys Station said the outage affected some traffic lights along Van Nuys Boulevard between Burbank Boulevard and Moorpark Street.
