From the 1930s through the 1970s, Van Nuys Boulevard in Sherman Oaks and Van Nuys was the No. 1 cruising spot for teenagers and hot rodders in the San Fernando Valley ... until the authorities shut it down in 1981.
But in 2009, the Van Nuys Cruising Association brought back the tradition and started cruising the boulevard again in their hot rods. It's a far cry from the glory days when to drive from Burbank Boulevard to Sherman Way, a total of two miles, would take half the night, but that doesn't stop these classic car lovers from coming out once a month and reliving the glory days.
